NCAA legislation allows coaches to provide occasional meals to student-athletes under certain circumstances. Such meals are permitted only on “infrequent and special occasions” and must be held in ASU’s “locale.” Coaches are allowed to provide reasonable local transportation to the occasional meals. To track meals across sports and ensure compliance with NCAA legislation, SDA coaches must submit an occasional meal approval form and receive approval from the Compliance Office before hosting an occasional meal. Coaches are asked to submit their requests at least 24 hours before their proposed meals.
